Leonie is the Chief Safety Officer for Johnson & Johnson MedTech. In this role, she oversees risk management planning and signal surveillance and drives effective safety decision making throughout the lifecycle of all J&J MedTech products. She has been with Johnson & Johnson for over 20 years, holding various roles across sectors and regions. Prior to her appointment as Chief Safety Officer, she more recently held the position of Vice President, Integrated Lead of Preclinical, Clinical and Medical Affairs for Ethicon and also previously served as Senior Clinical Director at Ethicon, leading clinical teams for Biosurgery and NeuWave Franchises.
Leonie obtained her medical degree from the National University of Ireland, Galway and pursued a career in surgery. Following the award of Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, she undertook training in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery unit in University College Hospital with a focus on Reconstructive and Hand Surgery.
